Types of Essays to Ace for Every Student Level

Writing an essay on various topics is part of every student’s school life. The style of the essays depends a lot on the topic on which the student has to write. Before writing an essay, you need to understand the various types of essay there are. There are mainly four types of essays – descriptive, narrative, expository, and persuasive. Let us learn how to write an essay under these categories and more.

Descriptive Essay Writing

The title itself explains it all – an essay where a description of a subject is needed for more clarity. In this style of writing, the writer needs to explain or give more clarity on the subject and draw the attention of the audience. Many of the essays given to the students require writing from a personal experience or something that is happening around them. The students can get more creative with their writing. But it is necessary to check for unintentional duplicate content and get plagiarism detected before submission.

Writing an Expository Essay

In this kind of writing style, the student is expected to inform or explain the topic. This may sound similar to the descriptive style of writing, but there is a minor difference between the two. In this style, the writer uses a search engine or other resources to collect information and explain. The body paragraphs of this essay hold all the information that is actually required. In short, it is more of an analytical essay. However, the chances of unintentional plagiarism are quite high in this style of writing.

Argumentative Essay Writing

The basic idea of writing in this style is that you need to do your research on the topic provided to you and prove your point. It may sound quite similar to the expository style of writing, but it is not. Unlike in expository, in an argumentative style, essay writers try to prove their point after their research through various arguments. It is a way to convince the audience.

Writing a Persuasive Essay

In this style of writing, the writer or student tries to persuade the audience by explaining the topic given. Many times, these essays are biased as they depend a lot on personal opinion. However, it does not aim to transform the audience but to take a stance on a particular subject on a personal level. However, a freelance writer should do a grammar check on the essay to ensure that it is correct. Any error in the writing can break the essay and the purpose of writing it.

Narrative Essay Writing Style

As the style itself explains, in this style you need to narrate a story. However, this style of writing is rarely found during the academic period. It is irrelevant whether or not the story is fictional or non-fictional. It is based on how creative the freelance writer can get. Many anti-plagiarism tools are available to ensure the outline of the story is copied from any webpage.

To ace any essay and to submit an effect essay, a student should work on original content. Plagiarism among students is very common due to access to various resources online. Many students fail due to this reason. Hence, it is important to check for plagiarism before submitting your essay.
