Plagiarism is the activity of pretension in which one takes someone else’s words and claims it as his own. Plagiarism can be that of ideas and thoughts, and not just words. If the content on your website is plagiarized or copied from any other resources on the internet, then it will not only harm your credibility in front of the consumers, investors as well as stakeholders, but also it will jeopardize your SEO efforts.

Google has strict policies against partial and complete plagiarism, and you might as well be removed from the search results of keywords relevant to your business.

It’s important to note that most of the times, plagiarism is not deceptive in origin or nature. It can be accidental, or it might just not be paraphrased correctly in case of indulgent research.

It can sound alarming to some of us, but there’s no need to stress out about this. All you have to do is make a few extra clicks! That’s right, you can simply go online and do a quick check for plagiarism for your website. Thanks to the software developers, who made the job – a matter of a few clicks.

There are a lot of online resources that allow you to do so. The process is pretty simple – you search for such a tool and select one from the many options. Whichever site you select, there will be a bar for you to insert your webpage URL. Insert the URL of your website and click on the ‘Check Plagiarism’ bar, which would be somewhere below the insert-URL tab.

It will take about a couple of minutes or two, depending on the size of your website for the tool to give you a result. There are paid and free software/sites available for both, the paid ones are more accurate and can detect the result in different formats as per your need, it can be in percentage format - how much percent of your content is plagiarized, it can be in lines format – how many lines of which all lines are plagiarized or in sentence format, meaning it will detect even if four or 5 words unique words are similar to any existent content.

The free ones are useful too may not give out such minutely but mostly can detect as close as lines of common content. Both paid and free tools will also highlight all the plagiarized content for your reference.

All paid and some free sites tell you where this content is plagiarized from and will also share the links of the existent content for you to understand. Either way, you are suggested to make immediate changes in all the content that’s been detected plagiarized.
